Insight Retail Software, Inc. ("Insight," "we," "us," or "our") builds point-of-sale
software, hardware, and the companion mobile apps that go with it. This Privacy Policy
explains what information we collect through our website, our mobile application (Insight POS),
and related services (together, the "Services"), and how we use and protect it.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and lead information. When you submit a form on our website or
contact us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, business name, email
address, phone number, and your message.
- Account and store information. If you are a customer using our POS
software or mobile apps, we process the account credentials and business data you and your
staff enter or generate to operate the system — including store configuration, inventory,
pricing, supplier, and transaction records.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. We automatically collect basic technical
information such as IP address, device type, operating system, and app or page activity, so
the Services work correctly and so we can understand how they are used.
- Camera. Our mobile apps use your device's camera only to scan product
barcodes. Images are processed on the device to read the barcode and are not stored or
transmitted by us.
- Cookies and analytics (website only). Our website uses Google Analytics
and Google Ads to measure traffic and advertising performance. These tools set cookies and
may record a click identifier (for example, a Google Click ID) when you arrive from an ad.
Our mobile apps do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad tracking. You can control
cookies through your browser settings.
Information stored on your device
- Our mobile apps store your login credentials and a local copy of your store's catalog
and working data on the device so the app works offline. Credentials are held in the
device's secure keychain, and if you enable biometric sign-in (Face ID / fingerprint), that
biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system and is never seen by or
sent to us.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, maintain, and support the Services.
- To respond to your inquiries and follow up on requests you submit to us.
- To process transactions and back up your store data in our cloud (hosted on Amazon Web
Services).
- To measure and improve our website, apps, and advertising.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the security and integrity of the Services.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. Our mobile apps do not collect or process payment
card data. We share information only as needed to run the Services:
- Service providers. With vendors who host, process, or support the
Services on our behalf — for example cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), analytics and
advertising (Google), and payment processing (Fiserv) — who are permitted to use the
information only to provide their service to us.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights,
property, or safety of Insight, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale
of assets, subject to this Policy.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you enter your mobile number to sign in to a store's app, we text you a one-time
verification code. One message per sign-in request; message and data rates may apply. Reply
STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or
affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will
not be shared with any third parties.

Data retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate
business or legal purposes. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical
safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we
cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by
emailing support@insightrs.com.
- You can disable cookies in your browser, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using
Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Children's privacy
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do
not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated"
date above. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
